![]() Process Control ModuleA new module has been added to JK WebDIRECTOR that provides an advanced process-control system. Process control allows business processes to be designed, mapped and then represented as activities and tasks. Each user of the administration system can see their tasks, and action on these tasks can cause one or more further tasks to be created. The process control system is linked to and extends the website version control system and so provides an extended change-management function for site content-management. For example, when an administrator completes a change to a section of the web site, a task could be sent to one or more managers to authorise the change. Once this step is completed, the marketing department could get a task to publish the changes to the live site. The software is also linked to the contact-management and email marketing section of the software. My combining a contact and process management system into a single application, a flexible, on-line, customer relationship management (CRM) system can be built. The CRM system is linked to the web site itself so, for example, a registration on the web site could initiate a new task for the sales department to follow up the call, or different requests could create tasks for different departments. This is more powerful than merely emailing the web form results, as several processes can be started and individually tracked. The new software will be available as a module for JK WebDIRECTOR (Enterprise Edition) version 4.0, which is scheduled for release in February 2007. |
